    Obituary- Carpenter, Jesse
    Obituary- Carpenter, Jesse
Many of our older citizens will be shocked to learn of the death of Editor J.C. Carpenter, which occurred at Council Grove last Sunday. Mr. Carpenter was formerly in the newspaper business in Rossville and had an extensive circle of acquaintances in this county who deplore his untimely end. He leaves a widow and two children.

[From Rossville newspaper July 5, 1901. Note: Jesse S. Carpenter, son of James C. Carpenter was the one who died.]
