| Obituary- Brock, Martin 1 Martin J. Brock, 54, Delia, died on Monday in a Topeka hospital. He had cancer. He was born May 8, 1921, in Sioux City, Iowa and moved to Delia as a small child. He had been a laboratory technician at Goodyear here since 1951.
He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Delia, the Knights of Columbus Council No. 657 at St. Marys and of the 4th Degree, Thomas A. McNeive General Assembly. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars at Holton, The Jimmie Lillard chapter of the American Legion at Rossville and the Tecumseh Chapter of the Kansas Old Time Fiddlers, Pickers and Singers. He was a veteran of the Navy and Army air corps during World War II. He was married to Helen Volz Nov. 26, 1942, in Topeka. She survives.
Other survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Coleen Howell, Overland Park, Mrs. Kathleen Lutz, Holton, Mrs. Barbara Hum, Biloxi, Miss., Mrs. Sheila Stueve, 1609 Wayne, and Miss Deborah J. Brock, 2111 Wayne; five sons, Timothy Brock, 3328 W. 12th, Terence Brock, Daniel Brock, David Brock and Gregory Brock, all of the home, and 15 grandchildren. Three children preceded him in death, Patrick Brock in 1944 and Michael Brock and Mary Theresa Brock in 1957.
The funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Sat. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Delia. Burial will be at Mr. Calvary Cemetery, St. Marys. A rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Friday at the Verschelden Funeral Home in St. Marys. Mr. Brock will lie in state after 1 p.m. Friday at the Verschelden Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jackson County Cancer Society.
