Accident victim in fair condition –
The lone survivor of a late Wednesday traffic accident that killed two men was in fair condition at St. Francis Regional Medical Center on Friday, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Daniel G. Mott, 23, of Belvue, was admitted to St. Francis after the vehicle he was in struck a culvert on the side of K-4 highway near Eskridge in Wabaunsee County. The vehicle rolled once and landed upright.
Dustin J. Bronaugh, 20, of Maple Hill, and Francis J. Urbanek, 19, of Emmett, were killed in the wreck.
A spokeswoman for the Kansas Highway Patrol said the accident was still under investigation. As of Friday afternoon, it hadn’t been determined who was driving the vehicle. Obituaries for Bronaugh and Urbanek appear on page 10-A of today’s Capital-Journal.

Immediately following the death of our dear Dusty, it was clearly demonstrated to us that not all saints have halos and not all angels have wings. The outpouring of support from family, neighbors, co-workers and both longtime and newly found friends who wished to help gently mark the passing of our dear son, brother, grandson and nephew was astounding to us.
We greatly appreciate the hundreds of gestures of condolences we received – the many gifts of food, plants, flowers and other items, cards, notes, visits and sincere offers to help in any way. By sharing in our grief, you helped make our sorrow easier to bear. Those who shared remembrances of Dusty especially helped shed meaningful light on his memory, which we hope will shine for eternity.
We will never forget the thoughtfulness of each person who offered sympathy. Indeed, blessed are the givers and grateful are the receivers. Please accept our deepest gratitude for your kindness during this difficult time. Thank You.
