    Mrs. Ruth Hesse and Mrs. Fern Rogers entertained guests Wednesday afternoon, at the latters home, with a miscellaneous shower in honor of Miss Irene Bond, bride-to-be. The afternoon was spent socially with various games and contests. Miss Bond received many lovely gifts. The color scheme of pink and white was carried out in the refreshments of ice cream and cake.     The marriage of Miss Medora Irene Bond to Mr. Jewell C. Campbell of Kansas City, was quietly solemnized Sunday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at the home of the Reverend H.L. Nelson in Topeka.

    Only the members of the immediate families were present and the attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Rogers.

    The bride wore a white knitted dress, a white off-the-face crepe turban, white accessories and a corsage bouquet of pink roses. Mrs. Rogers wore a brown sheer dress, brown accessories and a corsage bouquet of Talisman roses.

    The wedding was followed by a family dinner at the Hotel Kansan after which Mr. Campbell and his bride left on their wedding trip. They will motor to Yellowstone National Park and the Teton Mountains, Butte Mont., and Salt Lake City, and will return by way of Colorado.

    They will be at home in Rossville until the middle of September when they will go to Manhattan and Mr. Campbell will be a senior in the department of animal husbandry at Kansas State College. In Manhattan they will make their home at 1031 Moro Avenue.

    Mrs. Campbell attended Washburn College where she was a popular member of Alpha Phi. She received her B.A., B.M., and B.M.E. degrees at Kansas University. Following her graduation she taught public school music in Wilsey and later taught violin and public school music and Montana State Normal College at Dillon, Mont. Last year she taught at Mayetta.

    Mr. Campbell attended Kansas University and Louisiana State University and last year was a student at Kansas State College.

    J. C. “Joe” CAMPBELL

    J. C. “Joe” Campbell, 70, Rossville, died Monday, February 9, 1981, at a Rossville nursing home.

    He was born August 16, 1910, at Slater, Mo., the son of James and Edna Murry Campbell, and lived in the Rossville community since 1937.

    Mr. Campbell farmed west of Rossville until he retired.

    He was a member of the United Methodist Church and Hesperian Lodge No.111, AF&AM, both of Rossville.

    He married Irene Bond on August 8, 1937, at Topeka. She survives.

    Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Jan Miller, Missoula, Mont.; a son, Art Campbell, Rossville; a sister, Naomi Campbell, Concord, Calif.; a brother, Jimmy Campbell, Dallas, Tex.; and two grandchildren.

    Services were at 2 p.m. Thursday at Rossville United Methodist Church. Burial was in Rossville Cemetery. Parker-Price Mortuary was in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Rossville United Methodist Church, Rossville, Ks. 66533.

    ROSSVILLE - J.C. "Joe" Campbell, 70, Rossville, died Monday at a Rossville nursing home.
    He was born Aug. 16, 1910, at Slater, Mo., the son of James and Edna Murry Campbell, and lived in the Rossville community since 1937. Mr. Campbell farmed north of Rossville until he retired.

    Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Rossville United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Rossville Cemetery. The family will meet with friends from 7 until 8 p.m. Wed. at Parker-Price Mortuary. The casket will be closed at the church.
