    Former Rossville Merchant Dies
    Arthur F. Buchmeier, 70, a former Rossville store merchant, died Saturday at his home in Topeka.

    He was born September 12, 1896 at Paxico. He owned and operated a grocery store in Rossville until 1942 when he sold out to Mr. and Mrs. Boyd. He had lived in Topeka since that time. He was a veteran of World War I. He was employed by Beatrice Foods Co. for 13 years before he retired in 1957.

    Mr. Buchmeier was a member of West side Christian Church and was past worthy patron of Amaryllis Chapter No. 321, Order of the Eastern Star, at Rossville. He was a member of Capitol Post No. 1 of the American Legion, Philip Billard Post No. 1650 of Veterans of Foreign Wars and Hesperian Lodge No. 111, AF & AM, at Rossville.

    Survivors include his wife, Ida of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Robert F. Willis, Grand Forks, N.D.; a brother, Victor Buchmeier, Wellington; two sisters, Mrs. Theodore Childers, Wamego, Ill., and Mrs. Bertha Notgrass, Albuquerque, N.M.; and two grandchildren.
