| Obituary- Cantillon, Richard 1 Richard J. "Dick" Cantillon, 70, rural Rossville, died Friday, August 14, 1981, at his home. He was born September 16, 1910, in Chicago, Ill., the son of William D. and Beatrice Packham Cantillon. He attended schools at Champagne, Ill., and South Bend, Ind. He was a student at St. Mary's College in the early 1930s.
On July 15, 1931, he was married to Ann M. Besta in Waukeegan, Ill. The couple moved to the Rossville area in 1935, and farmed west of Rossville where they made their home. Mrs. Cantillon died June 23, 1981.
Mr. Cantillon was a member of St. Stanislaus Church in Rossville, an Honorary Life Member of Knights of Columbus Council 657, and a Fourth Degree member of the Thomas A. McNeive General Assembly, St. Marys.
Surviving him are a son, William B. Cantillon, Rossville; a daughter, Mrs. Carolyn Backerman, Rossville; a sister, Mrs. Betty Schaefer, Milwaukee, Wisc., nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Rosary is at 7 p.m. Tuesday (tonight) at Verschelden Chapel. Mass of the Resurrection is at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Stanislaus Church in Rossville. Interment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, St. Marys. Casket bearers are Robert Harden, Douglas Harden, Darrell Harden, Richard Cantillon, Michael Cantillon and Dennis Tolle.
The family has requested memorial donations be sent to the Heart Fund.

ROSSVILLE -- Richard J. Cantillon, 70, was found dead here Sunday, at his home where he lived alone. Authorities said he apparently died Friday, Aug. 14, 1981 of natural causes.
He was born Sept. 16, 1910 in Chicago, the son of William D. And Beatrice Packham Cantillon. He left Chicago to attend school in South Bend, Ind., Champaign, Ill., and St. Marys.
He was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Rossville, and an honorary member of Knights of Columbus No. 657 and a Fourth Degree member of the Thomas A. McNeive General Assembly, both in St. Marys.
He was married to Ann M. Besta July 15, 1931, in Waukegan, Ill. She died June 23, 1981.
