The couple was married May 31, 1906, at Falls City, Nebraska and have lived in the Delia community for 57 years, Mr. Burgett was a farmer. They are the parents of two sons, Robert Burgett of Delia and Joe Burgett of Topeka. Their family also includes nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was married to Ada Mae Brashear on Oct. 11, 1939 at Delia. She died Jan. 16, 1990. Mr. Burgett as a retired farmer and lifetime resident of the Delia area. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Delia. Survivors include three sons, James R. Burgett, Bandon Ore.; Marvin E. Burgett, Topeka, and Nathan E. Burgett, Jefferson City, Mo.; three daughters, Sheila A. Parnell, Cassville, Mo.; Mary T. Kemp, Bandon, Ore., and Rose E. Stanley, Quincy, Fla.; one brother, Joe Burgett, Topeka; five grandchildren, one great-grandchild, three step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren. Services will at 10 a.m. Friday, St. Stanislaus Church, Rossville, with burial in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, St. Marys. Mr. Burgett will lie in state after 10 a.m. Thurs. at Verschelden Chapel St. Marys. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Thurs. at the chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Stanislaus Church, Rossville.
