    Mr. Cecil Lemon and Miss Anna Lee were united in marriage by the probate judge in his office at Topeka Wednesday morning. Both are popular young people living a few miles northwest of town--the groom a son of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Lemon and the bride has made her home for several years past with her uncle, Mr. Kennett.

    The Reporter joins their many friends in wishing them a long, happy and prosperous wedded life.

    Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Lemon were pleasantly surprised last Sunday at the home of his mother, Mrs. Charley Lemon, where relatives gathered to help them celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary. A covered dish luncheon was served cafeteria style. Mr. and Mrs. Lemon were presented with two sets of silver ware. The following relatives and friends were present: Mr. and Mrs. James Lee and sons, of Axtel, Ks., Mr. and Mrs. John Lee and sons of Vermilon; Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Holder and children of Soldier; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Lee and family of Topeka; Mr. and Mrs. Troy Lemon. Miss Frances Whittington, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Carrol of Manhattan; Mrs. Dora Lee of Topeka; Miss Alice Lemon. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Lemon and children.

    LEMON—CARRELL
    Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Lemon announce the marriage of their daughter, Thelma Marie, to Mr. Leslie Carrell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wilburn Carrell, of Manhattan. The wedding occurred Sunday evening, February 26, at the home of Judge Charles Johnson, in Manhattan, at 6 o’clock. Miss Alverta Lemon, aunt of the bride, acted as bridesmaid. Mr. Clayton Carrell, brother of the groom was best man. Others attending were Mrs. Charles Johnson, Mrs. Wilburn Carrell and his sister, Miss Nellie Carrell. Lohengrin’s wedding march was played by Mr. Vinton Johnson.

    Following the wedding the party drove to the home of the groom 8 miles southwest of Manhattan where a wedding supper was served to relatives and friends of the couple. The house was beautifully decorated in pink, and white.

    Mrs. Marrell [sic] is the second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lemon. She was born and reared in this community, and has a large circle of friends.

    Mr. and Mrs. Carrell will make their home on the Carrell farm at Manhattan.

    Obituary- Carrell, Thelma
    Mrs. Thelma Carrell, 68, Manhattan, died Saturday, October 30, 1982 at her home. She was born August 23, 1914 at Rossville, the daughter of Cecil and Anna Lee Lemon. She spent most of her life in the Manhattan community.
    Mrs. Carrell was a cook at Memorial Hospital in Manhattan and a member of Ladies Auxiliary to Lee Peierson Post No. 1786, also Manhattan.
    She married Leslie Carrell February 26, 1933, at Manhattan. He survives
    Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Sharon Murphy, Manhattan; two sons, Fred Carrell, Spokane, Wash., and Larry Carrell, Wichita; two sisters, Mrs. Anita VandeVelde, St. Marys, and Mrs. Dorothy McConald, Gravois Mills, Mo.; four brothers, Clyde Lemon, Des Moines, Iowa, Donald Lemon, Dubuque, Iowa, Harold Lemon, Topeka, and Virgil Lemon, Rossville; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
    Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Cowan-Edwards-Yorgensen Funeral Home in Manhattan. Burial will be in Sunrisee Cemetery, Manhattan. The family met with friends from 7 to 8:30 pm. Monday at the funeral home where memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
