    Hosting will be their children and families, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Bush Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Roger Bush and Mr. and Mrs. Michael Manbeck, Rossville, and Linda Vacca and Wendy Vacca, Topeka.

    Donald L. Bush and Edna M. Corpening were married Nov. 8, 1941, in St. Louis, Mo. Mr. Bush is retired from Topeka public schools. They have nine grandchildren.

    Golden Wedding Reception for Bush Couple
    Donald and Edna Bush will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Sunday, November 10. A reception will be held at the Rossville Christian Church from two until four o'clock in the afternoon, hosted by their children: Don Bush, Jr., Roger Bush, Cathy Manbeck, all of Rossville, and Linda Vacca, Topeka.

    Donald Bush and Edna Corpening were married November 8,1941 in St. Louis, Mo. Mr. Bush is a retired school teacher from Unified School District 501, Topeka. The couple has lived in Rossville for the past 37 years.

    Donald Lester Bush Sr.
    ROSSVILLE – Donald Lester Bush Sr. 91, died Sunday, March 9, 2009 at the Rossville Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center. He was born March 14, 1917 at Admire, the son of the late Earle Lester and Katherine States Bush. He grew up in the Eskridge community where he received his Normal Training. He lived a short time in Colorado. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from Emporia State Teacher’s College and his Master’s Degree from Washburn University. Mr. Bush Served in the Arm Air Force Corps from 1941 – 1945 and was a WWII Veteran. Mr. Bush began his teaching career in a one-room school house and later progressed to the small communities of Beman, Paxico and Rossville. The majority of his later years were spent teaching in Topeka 501 Highland Park North. He was a member of the Rossville United Methodist Church. He was united in marriage to Edna Mae Corpening on November 8, 1941 at St. Louis. She preceded him in death on November 25, 1998. He was also preceded in death by a sister Mildred Swain and a daughter-in-law Bonnie Bush. Survivors include his four children, Donald (Evie) Bush Jr., Topeka, Linda Vacca, Topeka, Roger Bush, Rossville and Cathy (Mike) Manbeck, Rossville; a brother, Edwin (Ila) Bush, Eskridge; a sister, Lola Killam, Topeka; 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at the Rossville United Methodist Church. Interment will be in the Rossville Cemetery where the Kansas National Guard Funeral Honor Team will conduct military graveside services. Mr. Bush will lie in state at the church Wednesday morning with a visitation from 10:00 until service time. Memorial contributions may be made to the Rossville United Methodist Church or Rossville Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center and sent in care of Piper Funeral Home, 714 Maple, St. Marys, Kansas 66536.
