 | Obituary- Bush, John N. d1953 JOHN N. BUSH
John n. Bush, 79, one of our highly respected citizens, died early Tuesday morning in a Topeka hospital, where he was taken last Friday suffering from a fractured hip bone, broken ribs and injured lung.
The accident happened at his home but was not discovered until several hours after it happened. His severe injuries were not known until pain set in and his physician had him taken to the hospital.
He was born October 30, 1873, in Rossville and was a lifelong resident of this community.
He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Nora Navarre, Topeka, and Mrs. Grace Baird, Wichita; two brothers, Isador and William Bush both of Rossville.
His wife, the former Kate Martin, preceded him in death a few years ago. Since that time he had lived alone, lately cared for by his sister-in-law, Dollie Lillard, and brothers Bill and “Dora†Bush.
“Nick†as we all knew him was a fine artisan in his trade as a carpenter.
His parents were the late Mr. and Mrs. John Bush among the early day settlers of this community.
The funeral was at 2 p.m. Thursday at Parker’s Mortuary with burial in Rossville cemetery.
