| Obituary- Butts, Bessie Mrs. Bessie J. Butts died at Christ Hospital, Topeka, January 14. She was formerly Miss Bessie Whipps. She leaves her husband, and an aged crippled mother to mourn her loss. Mr. Butts worked around Silver Lake the past summer with a line crew for the Bell people. The deceased lady at one time was a resident of Rossville, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Whipps. Her brother, Wallace Whipps, worked on the old Rossville Times of which the Reporter is the successor. At that time the paper was owned and operated by Ernest Weller, of Wamego, who also owned the old Kansas Agriculturalist. After leaving here the family moved to Silver Lake and resided for some years. |
