    JOHN LOUIS CLARK

    John Louis Clark, 67, Juniata, Neb., died Saturday, December 13, 1986, at a Grand Island, Neb., veteran’s home.

    Mr. Clark was a fireman and engineer for the Union Pacific Railroad before he retired in 1981.

    He was bon January 23, 1919, at Frankfort, Ks., the son of Thomas Charles and Minnie Stevens Clark. He was graduated from Lillis Rural High School. In 1945 he moved to Marysville, Ks., and in 1963 he moved to Nebraska.

    Mr. Clark was inducted into the Army October 6, 1941. He served three and one-half years in the South Pacific in Battery C of the 164th Field Artillery Battalion. He had attained the rank of staff sergeant.

    He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 365 at Juniata, Neb., Col. E. L. Wilson, Jr., Post No. 2699 of Veterans of Foreign Wars at Marysville, Ks., Disabled American Veterans and Council No. 1123 of Knights of Columbus at Hastings, Neb.

    He was married to Alice Marie Cooper September 8, 1949, at Delia, Ks. She survives.

    Other survivors include three sons, John T. Clark, Omaha, Neb., Steve Clark, at home, and James Clark, Hastings, Neb.; a daughter, Mrs. Marcia Reining, Hastings, Neb,; four sisters, Mrs. Mary Lieb, Onaga, Mrs. Louise Reust, Frankfort, Mrs. Elizabeth Katzer, Garnett, and Mrs. France Hupp, Topeka; and six grandchildren.

    Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Hastings, Neb. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery in Hastings. Livingston-Butler-Volland Funeral Home in Hastings in is charge of arrangements.
