    Russell Caton
    Russell Caton, 85, Topeka, died Wednesday, April 11, 2001, at his home.
    Mr. Caton retired from IBM in 1974 after 33 years of service.
    He was born March 6, 1916, in Kansas City, MO, the son of John Emerson and Jesse May Wilson Caton. He attended school in the Kansas City area.
    Mr. Caton was active in Boy Scouts and received numerous honors and medals, including the St. George Award. He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, IBM Retirees and the Quarter Century Club. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus.
    He married Eunice Westerman on August 10, 1940. She died September 6, 1999. Mr. Caton also was preceded in death by two infant sons, John Joseph Caton in 1954 and Joseph Gerald Caton in 1957.
    Survivors include two sons, James R. Caton, Rossville, and William F. Caton, Auburn; three daughters, Mary Lou Sherman, Scranton, Julie A. Spencer, Topeka, and Kathleen S. Caton, Olathe; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
    Mass of Christian Burial was at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Christ the King Catholic Church. Burial was in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Topeka. A parish rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Sunday at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, Topeka.
