    Charles Sylvester Catron
    Charles Sylvester Catron, 95, formerly of 635 Harrison, died Thursday, March 17, 1988, at a Topeka nursing home.
    Mr. Catron was an electrical engineer for the United States government. He traveled widely with his jobs, in two of which he was instrumental in designing the lighting for the island of Guam and the Golden Gate Bridge at San Francisco. He was an Army veteran of World War I.
    He was born Dec. 5, 1892, at Rossville, the son of John G. and Emma D. Patton Catron.
    Mr. Catron was a member of Oakland Independent Order of Odd Fellows Lodge No. 640 and a 60-year member of Golden Rule Lodge No. 90, AF&AM. He had attended First Foursquare Gospel Church in Topeka.
    Survivors include four nieces, Evelyn Beaman, Topeka, Virginia Divita, Richmond Heights, Ohio, Dulcie Andrews, Sun Valley, Nev., and Patty Russell, address unavailable, a step niece, Olive Witaker, Topeka; and several grandnieces and nephews.
    Mr. Catron was cremated. Inurnment services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Rochester Cemetery. Parker Price Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
