    WALTER CLESS’ ENJOY GOLDEN WEDDING ANNIVERSARY

    Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Cless entertained at an informal gathering Sunday, Feb. 28, at the home of his parents, Mr. an Mrs. Walter Cless, who were honor guests on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary.

    Mr. and Mrs. Cless were married Feb. 24, 1904, at the home of the bride’s parents north of Rossville with the Rev. Steward officiating. Mrs. Cless is the former Lida Shenk. They have one son, Floyd of Topeka.

    They were pleasantly surprised by a group of relatives and friends who gathered at their home Sunday and helped them observe their Golden Wedding anniversary.

    The table was covered with a lace cloth and decorated with a three-tier cake and candelabra. Mrs. Duane Parr cut the cake and Mrs. Leland Wagner was in charge of the guest book.

    WALTER J. CLESS

    Walter J. Cless, 81, life-long resident of Rossville, died last Thursday afternoon, July 17, 1958, at his home here. He was born February 1, 1877, in Rossville. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church and was a county road foreman for years.

    He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lida Cless, of the home; a son, Floyd Cless, Topeka; one granddaughter; a great-grandchild, and a brother, Ralph Cless, Pueblo, Colo.

    Funeral services were held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. in the Rossville Christian Church with burial in Rossville Cemetery, Parker Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
