    THOMAS A. NOVELLY


    WAMEGO-Thomas A. Novelly, 62, Wamego, Kansas passed away Sunday, July 22, 2018.

    On May 16, 1956, Tom, was born to Walter & Antoinette (Weixelman) Novelly in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Tom was born with Down’s Syndrome. He grew up in Tulsa and later San Antonio and Houston, Texas living with his parents before moving in 1998 to Gatesway Foundation in Broken Arrow Oklahoma where he was able to also spend time in their sheltered workshop. He moved to Good Samaritan’s Valley Vista Nursing Home in Wamego in December 2017.

    Tom was preceeded in death by his father in 2014. He is survived by his mother (Oakley Place in Rossville), his five siblings Greg (Lisa), Colorado Springs, Maria (Jon Shapiro), Manchester, England, Nancy (Gerald) Naumann, Boerne, TX, Nick (Denise), St. Marys, KS and Paul (Amy), Granbury, TX.

    First cousins in the immediate Wamego and St. Marys area include James Meinhardt and his siblings, Teri (Ebert) Brockish and her siblings, Richard Weixelman and his siblings and Pat Weixelman.

    The schedules for family visitation at Stewart Funeral Home and Mass & Rosary at Assumption Chapel, St. Mary’s Academy & College in St. Marys, KS will be announced later. Memorial contributions can be left in care of Stewart Funeral Home, PO Box 48, Wamego, KS 66547 and will go to the Caring Community Foundation (in Onaga) to establish the Weixelman-Novelly Teachers’ Endowment for St. Mary’s Academy.
