ROSSVILLE -- Albert Coleman, 64, Rossville, died Saturday, 3-6-1982, at a Topeka hospital. He suffered an apparent heart attack.
He was born May 2, 1917, at Denison, the son of Charles C. and Ellen Coen Coleman, and lived in Rossville 36 years.
Mr. Coleman was a plumber at Kansas State University, Manhattan. He previously owned and operated Coleman’s Garage at Rossville for 25 years.
He was an Army veteran of World War II and served in the 7th Infantry Division. He was a life member of 7th Infantry Division Association and member of Lee-Pierson Post No. 1786 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Manhattan, charter member of Jimmie Lilliard Post No. 31 of the American Legion and member of Hesperian Lodge No. 111, AF&AM, both of Rossville, and La Societe des 40 Hommes et 8 Chevaux, Voiture Locale No. 1148, and Kansas Association of Public Employees Inc., No 303, both of Topeka.
He married Jennie Sherretts Dec.11, 1942, at Topeka. She survives.
Other survivors include a son, Kenneth D. Coleman, Dallas, Texas; and two sisters, Ruth Coleman, Almeda, Calif., and Mrs. Mary Decker, Rossville.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Parker-Price Mortuary, Topeka. Graveside services will be conducted by Hesperian Lodge No. 111, AF&AM, and Jimmie Lillard Post No. 31, in Rossville Township Cemetery. The family will meet with friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday at the mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to Rossville Community Library, Rossville, 66533.
