    ZICKEFOOSE CHILD DEAD

    Word was received here today of the death of Master Samuel Zickefoose, 5 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Zickefoose of Stapleton, Nebr. The message stated the family would arrive today with the body and funeral services will be probably Saturday.

    Mrs. Henry Zickefoose and her children, a son and three daughters while enroute here last Thursday with the body of the youngest child had their car wrecked near Riley Kansas and a car from Rossville had to be sent to their assistance.

    Samuel Pet Zickefoose was born Dec. 24, 1927, at Stapleton, Nebraska. He passed away Feb. 22, 1933, at the place of his birth.

    He leaves to mourn his early passing, his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Zickefoose, six sisters, Marjorie, Roma, Lola, Elma, Thelma and Henrietta; and two brothers Vernon and Glenn, all of the home address; also his grandmother, Mrs. Ellen Berkey, of Russell, Kansas and numerous other relatives.

    The body was brought to Rossville overland, arriving last Friday morning. The short funeral service was held that afternoon at the Chas. Berkey home southeast of Rossville, in charge of Rev. Horton of the M.E. church, after which he was laid to rest in the Rossville cemetery.

    Four young men, three of them cousins, served as pallbearers.

    Music was furnished by Mrs. Peter Navarre and Mrs. Mildred Berry, with Miss Edith Higginbotham at the piano.

    Mrs. Ellen Berkey of Russell, came to Rossville, Wednesday, called by the death of her grandson the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Zickefoose, of Stapleton, Neb., brought here for burial. --23 Feb. 1933

    Mr. and Mrs. Ray Vorhies and children, and his moth, Mrs. Maggie Large of Topeka, were here Friday to attend the funeral of Samuel Zickefoose, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Zickefoose of Stapleton, Neb. -- 2 March 1933
