Glen Wilbur Broaddus, 92, of Meriden, died Monday, November 18, 2019 at the Rossville Manor in Rossville. He was born February 12, 1927 in Jackson County, KS, the son of James Wilbur and Edith Clara Haun Broaddus. He was a 1944 graduate of Hoyt High School and attended a Government Welding School, earning welding certification. He worked as a truck driver for J.H. Ware Interstate Trucking Co. from 1946 until retiring in 1991. He then served as farm manager and maintenanceman for Pine Family Farms in Lawrence 10 years, retiring in 2014. He was a member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church in Topeka. He married Mary Jane Wilbur, his wife of 70 years, on May 26, 1947 in Topeka, she preceded him in death on August 15, 2016. Survivors include two sons, Rockie (Debbie) Broaddus, Meriden, Glen “Daniel” (Abigail) Broaddus, Tulsa, OK, one daughter, Colista “Suzi” (Rick) Mark, Meriden, one brother, Don Broaddus, Meriden, 18 grandchildren and 13, great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Jay Broaddus and one brother, Cleo Broaddus.
Memorial Grave Side Inurnment Services are pending and will be announced at a later date. Memorials suggested to Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church in care of Barnett Family Funeral Home/Jefferson County Crematory, P.O. Box 602, Oskaloosa, KS, 66066.
