Dies at 82
Joseph Morgan Cottle, 82, 1610 W. 22nd, died Tuesday evening in a Topeka nursing home after a long illness.
He was born June 12, 1880, In Morgan County, Ky. He came to Kansas when he was a young man and settled at Rossville. He was a resident of Topeka since 1932.
Mr. Cottle was employed by the Union Pacific Railroad many years before he retired in 1945. He was a member of the Methodist Church at Rossville and American War Dads in Topeka.
He and Ella Brashear were married at Rossville in 1910. She died in March 1961. A son, Lt. Amos M. Cottle, was killed in World War II.
SURVIVORS include five sons, Ernest Cottle of South Gate, Calif., Raymond Cottle of Wamego, Maj. Joe I. Cottle of the U. S. Air Force, stationed in France, Donald Cottle, 2324 E. 22nd St. Ter., and Robert Cottle of Lawrence; two daugh¬ters, Mrs. Reva C. Blanchard 1610 W. 22nd, and Mrs. Dar¬lene Flickinger of Newton; six grandchildren; two great-grand¬children; a brother, Goebel Cot¬tle, 2134 Plass; five sisters, Mrs. Emma Waller, 427 Wilson, and Mrs. Rae Trimble, Mrs. Fanny Oldfield, Mrs. Bessie Startup and Mrs. Lennie Prater all of Rossville; and several nephews and nieces.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Parker Mortuary with burial in the Rossville Cemetery.

He was born June 12, 1880 in Morgan County, Ky. He came to Kansas as a young man and settled at Rossville. He had been a Topeka resident since 1922.
