| Obituary- Yates, Harold 1 Harold ‘Lee’ Yates
Harold “Lee” Yates, 53, passed away peacefully at his Silver Lake home on Tuesday, March 6, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born Aug. 10, 1958, in Wamego, the son of Connie Wilburn Yates and Harold Jay Yates, both of whom have passed before him.
Lee graduated from Wamego High School.
He worked in the interior construction and drywall trade for more than 30 years.
Lee married Suzie Redmon in 1978 and they had 34 wonderful years together. They were blessed with two daughters, Amanda Yates of Overland Park and Jessie Yates of Silver Lake.
He loved to proudly support his daughters as they participated in their many sports activities.
Besides his wife and daughters, Lee is survived by his other mother, Joan Yates of Independence; sister, Mary Jo Beiter and family of Lenexa; brother, Lawrence Yates of Houston, Texas.
Memorial services were set for March 10 at Bethel Community Church, 6944 N.W. Landon Road, Topeka.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, Midland Hospice Care or Cotton O’Neil Cancer Center and sent in care of Piper Funeral Home, 714 W. Maple, St. Marys, KS 66536.

Other survivors include Bill & Joyce Wilburn, Jim Wilburn & Family, Bill and Janice Swiger, Bill Swiger Jr. & Family and Debbie Woudstra & Family.
Memorial services will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 10, 2012 at Bethel Community Church, 6944 NW Landon Rd, Topeka, KS. 66618. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until service time at the church.
