    Mrs. Letta Stella Wykert, 89, Topeka, died Sunday, June 11, 1989, at a Topeka retirement home.

    Mrs. Wykert worked for the Kansas Department of Revenue before she retired.

    She was born Oct. 1, 1899, at Peru, Neb., the daughter of Emile Peter and Leona Catherine Bourlier Carlin. She grew up at Hoyt, attended Hoyt schools and lived in the Hoyt community until 1957 when she moved to Topeka.

    Mrs. Wykert was a member of the United Methodist Church in Hoyt.

    She was married to Harold Wykert March 11, 1922, in Delia. He died in May 1956.

    Survivors include a daughter, Janice Bontrager, Charlotte, N.C.; a sister, Alice Erwin, Topeka; a brother, Elmer Carlin, Hoyt; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

    Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home. Burial will be in Hoyt Cemetery. Relatives and friends will meet from 7 until 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association, 5375 W. 7th, 66606.
