  Obituary- Cowan, Catherine CATHERINE COWAN Mrs. Catherine “Kate” Cowan, 83, Rossville, died late Friday, September 30, 1983, at a Topeka hospital. She was born October 5, 1899, at St. Marys, the daughter of Henry and Catherine Seitz Meyer. Mrs. Cowan was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, the Altar Society of the church, Golden Agers Club and Countryside Club, all at Rossville. She was married to Louis M. Cowan May 3, 1943, at Immaculata Chapel of St. Mary’s College. He survives. Other survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Martha Immenschuh, Silver Lake, Mrs. Leona Perry, Rossville, and Mrs. Lucille Clark, Topeka; and a brother, Clarence Meyer, St. Marys. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Rossville. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Sunday at Verschelden Funeral Home, St. Marys. Casket bearers were Larry Martinek, Bill Meyer, Charles Immenschuh, Jerry Perry, Keith Cowan, and Ronald Cowan. Burial was at St. Marys.
