• Documents » Slide Show		Obituary- Cox, Lela 1 Lela A. Cox ROSSVILLE — Lela A. Cox, 94, Ross¬ville, died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 1997, at a Rossville nursing home. She was born Sept. 17, 1903, at Delia, the daughter of Artie J. and Georgians Morrow Ward. She was raised in Delia and was graduated from Delia High School in 1922. She had lived in Mayetta, Denison and Rossville. Mrs. Cox was a member of Delia Pres¬byterian Church and she was active in the Rossville Senior Citizens Group for sever¬al years. She married Russell Cox on Dec. 17, 1924. He died in 1976. Mrs. Cox also was preceded in death by a daughter, Phyllis Lundin. Survivors include two daughters, Marjor¬ie Houck, Galt, Calif., and Carol Peterson, Mansfield, Texas; a son, Robert E. Cox, Maple Hill; a sister, Irene Salisbury, Law¬rence; two brothers, Artie Ward, Buffalo, and Dale Ward, Las Vegas, Nev.; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Piper-Verschelden Funeral Home in St. Marys. Burial will be at the Delia Ceme-tery. Mrs. Cox will lie in state after 2 p.m. today at the funeral home, where relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Delia Presbyterian Church and sent in care of the funeral home.
