Anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Russell W. Cox will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary, Sunday, December 22, with a reception in the Kansas National Guard Armory at Holton.
Hosts for the reception will be their children: Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Cox, Rossville; Mr. and Mrs. John E. Houck, Galt, Calif., and Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Uhler, Osage City.
Friends and relatives are invited to call between 2:00 and 4:00 p.m. The couple requests that no gifts be presented.
Mr. and Mrs. Cox were married December 17, 1924 in Holton and have lived in the Emmett, Delia and Mayetta communities during their married life.
They have 11 grandchildren

Russell W. Cox, 77, Rossville, was dead on arrival at a Topeka hospital Tuesday morning. He had a heart ail¬ment and had been a patient in the same hospital earlier.
He was born Dec. 14, 1898, at Mayetta and spent most of his life in the Mayetta and Denison communities. He lived in Rossville about a year. He was a farmer before he retired.
He was a member of the Presbyteri¬an Church and Delia Lodge No. 419, AF&AM, both at Delia.
He was married to Lela Ward Dec. 17, 1924, at Holton. She survives. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Phyllis Lundin.
Other survivors include a son, Robert E. Cox, Rossville; two daughters, Mrs. Marjorie Houck, Galt, Calif., and Mrs. Carol Uhler, Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; five sisters, Mrs. Margaret Whalen, Topeka, Mrs. Gladys Wise and Mrs. Almeda Salisbury, both of St. Marys, Mrs. Myrtle McNeive, Emmett, and Mrs. Anna Whittington. Mayetta; and 11 grandchildren.
Parker Mortuary is in charge of ar¬rangements. Delia Lodge No. 419, AF&AM will conduct graveside services at Delia Cemetery.

Services will be at 1:30 Friday at Parker Mortuary. The Rev. Dwight Seneker will be the officiating minister. Delia Lodge No. 419, AF&AM, will conduct graveside services at Delia Cemetery. Casket bearers are: Ivan Buehler, Lawrence Baxter,
Edward Wood, all of Mayetta; William Gunther, Denison; Vernon Keller and Maurice Thompson, Rossville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Kansas Heart Association or to the Presbyterian Church at Delia and sent in care of Peoples State Bank at Rossville.
