    Pinkerton-Viergever Vows in Oklahoma
Miss Elaine Pinkerton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Pinkerton, Wakita, became the bride of Dan W. Viergever, son of Mr. and Mrs. Chris Viergever, Rossville, Kansas, February 7, in a recent ceremony at the First Methodist Church of Wakita, Oklahoma, with the Rev. Howard Roberts, officiating before a background of double candelabra holding tall white tapers and baskets of gladioli.

Mrs. Paul Dahlem, organist, accompanied Miss Sue Spiva, Shidler, who sang, "Whither Thou Goest," "With This Ring" and "The Lord's Prayer."

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of lace and tulle over taffeta. The bodice featured a sabrina neckline outlined with seed pearls. Long sleeves came to points over the hands. The full length skirt was of tulle with lace inserts and appliquéd medallions of the lace, and featured alternating tiers of lace and tulle down the back, giving the effect of a train.

Her veil of illusion was held by a small lace cap designed and made by the bride. It was edged with the seed pearls to match the dress and tiny pleated ruffles trimmed the scalloped edge. She carried a cascade bouquet of blue carnations and white hyacinth atop a white satin bible.

Mrs. L.D. Garrett, Ponca City, Sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Sharon Thornhill, Wakita, and Miss Sue Viergever, Rossville, sister of the groom. All wore periwinkle blue satin dresses featuring matching lace yokes and very full skirts. Small veils were held by matching head bows. Each carried colonial bouquets of white carnations with blue and white ribbons.

Tapers were lighted by Sharon Viergever, sister of the groom, and Dottie Pinkerton, sister of the bride. They wore dresses identical to the bridesmaid's but in a lighter shade of the blue. They wore wrist corsages of white carnations.

Gary French, Rossville, served as best man. Attendants were Donald Jacobson, Rossville, and Kenneth Mason, Topeka, Kansas. Ushers were Kenneth Bennett and Bill Wild, both of Rossville.

For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Pinkerton chose a blue sheath dress with matching hat and black accessories. Mrs. Viergever, mother of the groom, chose a navy blue dress with white hat and accessories. Their corsages were of white carnations.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church dining room. The serving table, covered with a lace cloth over blue, featured the large three-tiered wedding cake topped with wedding bells and decorated in white and silver.

Assisting were Miss Donna Riley, cousin of the bride, Mrs. Allen Riley, aunt of the bride, Mrs. O.C. Snapp, Miss Sue Ayers, Miss Karen Webb, Miss Gayle Sutton and Miss Madge Stuart who kept the guest book.

For going away the bride chose a peacock blue wool suit with white and black accessories. Her corsage was the centerpiece of her bridal bouquet.

Mr. and Mrs. Viergever are making their home in Wellington, Kansas where Mr. Viergever is employed.
