    Walter J. Flach, 93, passed away early Sunday, December 24, 2023, at Valley Vista Good Samaritan Society in Wamego.

    Walter was born July 6, 1930, at Newbury, the son of Joseph Henry and Helen Glotzbach Flach. He graduated from Paxico High School. Walter lived in the Paxico community all his life.

    Walter retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber after 37 years of service. He was a lifetime member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Newbury, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council N0. 1392. Walter was a charter member of the Newbury 4-H Club and had been a 4-H leader. He was a member of the United Rubber Workers Union Local 307.

    On November 19, 1951, Walter and Rosanna R. Shields were united in marriage. Rosie preceded him in death on April 29, 2011. Walter was also preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Jo Cooke; a son, William "Bill" Flach; grandson Jason Seematter; brothers, Clarence "Bud' Flach, Robert Flach, Lawrence "Larry" Flach, Paul Flach; and a sister, Edna Zeller.

    Survivors include his son, Pat (Debbie) Flach, St. Maries, ID; two daughters, Marsha (Jim) Seematter, Hoyt and Geralyn (Keith) Boyer, Wamego; son-in-law, Harley Cooke, Sr.; 11 grandchildren, Harley Jr., Jennifer, Sharon, Amy, Shawn, Ann, Adam, Daniel, Catherine, Garrett and Alecia; with an additional five great-grandchildren.

    Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11: 00 A.M. Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Newbury. The family will receive friends from 9:30 A.M. until the 10:30 A.M. followed by a rosary at the church. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Newbury.
