    John Casper Eakes
    Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Holy Name Cath¬olic Church for John Casper Eakes, 94, Topeka. He died Tuesday, Nov. 29, 1988, at a To¬peka hospital.
    Mr. Eakes worked for Santa Fe Railway from 1911 to 1959 and was general fore¬man of freight shops from 1929 until he retired.
    He was an Army veteran of World War I.
    He was born Nov. 25, 1894, at Topeka, the son of Jacob and Anna Marie Bullock Eakes.
    Mr. Eakes was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church, Veterans of World War I of U.S.A. Inc. Jayhawk Barracks No. 1113 and Santa Fe Old Timers Club.
    He was married to Mary Marga¬ret Cunningham in 1918. She died in 1954. He was married to Edna Moore Beasley Jan. 16, 1960, at Lawrence. She survives. A daughter, Mary Patricia Schiefelbein, died May 22, 1988.
    Other survivors include a daugh¬ter, Lorraine Brown, Missoula, Mont.; a son, Philip Eakes, Sun City West, Ariz.; a sister, Helen Caskey, Lincoln, Ill.; 10 grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; 18 great-grand¬children; and a stepgreat-grand-daughter.
    Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Mr. Eakes will lie in state from 2 until 9 p.m. Sunday at Bren¬nan Funeral Home where a parish rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Sunday.
