  Obituary- Clayton, Dennis Dennis L. “Denny” Clayton Dennis L. “Denny” Clayton, 79, passed away Thursday, March 2, 2023, at his home after a short brave battle with cancer. He was born September 10, 1943 in Sioux City, Iowa, the son of Donald and Maude “Blanche” Hickmon Clayton. Denny graduated from Sloan, IA, High School. He was a pipe fitter retired out of Local 441. Denny loved his family. He enjoyed reading and fishing, especially with his brothers Steve, Big Donnie, Kevin, EV, his good friend Ron. He also liked to sit and have a beer with family and friends. Denny had a great sense of humor and a soft heart. He was married to Judy Lakings, they divorced and remained friends. He was preceded in death by his father and brother Greg (EV). His in-laws, Dale and Carol Luttig, and his brother-in-law Dave Luttig. He was married to Cathy Luttig in Emmett on April 28, 1984. She survives at their home. Other survivors include his mother, Blanche (Roger) Jenkins, Sloan, IA; his children, Donald (Sharon) Clayton, Omaha, NE, Christine (Will) Akins, Lincoln, NE, and Amanda Clayton, Rossville; siblings, Donna Zuetlau, Sloan, IA, Donald Clayton, Jackson, NE, Kevin (Cathy) Clayton, Salix, IA, Roxanne (Bob) Hyden, Galveston, IN, Jan (Steve) Hubert, Salix, IA; grandchildren, Megan (Paul) Thole, Samuel (Kayla) Akins, Matthew Akins and Chloe Clayton; great-grandchildren, Jaxon, Zachary and Belle Thole. He also had many nieces, nephews and cousins that he loved to tease. Memorial services will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 15, 2023 at the Rossville Christian Church where there will be a visitation from 10:00 until service time. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society and sent in care of Piper Funeral Home, 714 Maple Street, St. Mary, Kansas 66536.
