Mr. and Mrs. George E. Eakin, of rural Delia, will be observing their 50th wedding anniversary on February 16, 1975, with a family dinner at the home of their daughter, Vinita and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Auswell Stauffer, R.R. 1 Holton, with their grandchildren and great-grandchildren present: Mr. and Mrs. Russell Stauffer, Marcia, Myla and Mike of Sabetha; Mr. and Mrs. Bud Stauffer, Bryan, Kevin, Jeffrey, and Tod Stephen of Mayetta; Mrs. Sharon Goldsworthy and Shannon, Duluth, Minn.; and Mr. and Mrs. Bradford Stauffer, Topeka.
The Eakins were married at Lawrence, Ks., February 17, 1925.

Mr. and Mrs. George Eakin, Delia, will celebrate their 60th anniversary with a family observance on Sunday, Feb. 17 at their home.
Mr. Eakin is recovering from recent knee replacement surgery. During his stay in the hospital, Mrs. Eakin, who is in poor health, stayed with her daughter Mrs. Auswell Stauffer, Holton.

George E. Eakin, 85, Delia, died Friday, Aug. 1, 1986, at his home.
Mr. Eakin was a retired farmer and stockman.
He was born March 30, 1901, on a farm northeast of Delia, the son of George Gilson and Clara Mills Eakin, and lived all his life in the Delia area.
He married Stacia McClain Linsacum on Feb. 17, 1925, in Law¬rence. She died Feb. 11, 1986.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Vinita Stauffer, Holton; a sis¬ter, Mrs. Esther Uhl, Spring Hill; two brothers, Dale Eakin, Phoe¬nix, Ariz., and Emery Eakin, Delia; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Services were to be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Presbyterian Church in Delia. Burial was to be in Delia Cemetery. Verschelden Funeral Home, St. Marys, was in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Delia Presbyterian Church in care of Mrs. Joe Macha, Delia, 66418.

Mrs. Eakin is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry McClain and Mr. Eakin is the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Eakin of Delia. |
