    ALEXIA ANN EBERT
    Alexia Ann Ebert, 101, of Flush, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, at the Via Christi Village in Manhat¬tan, surrounded by her family.
    Alexia was born June 21, 1911, in Blaine, the daughter of James F. and Mary W. Rooney McCormick.
    She attended country schools before going to Catholic school in Blaine, where the Benedictine Sisters taught. She had many wonderful memories of school with the Sisters during her last six years of school, graduating in 1929 from Blaine Ru¬ral High School. She studied for her teacher’s exam and taught at Flint Hill School for two years.
    On June 6, 1934, Alexia married Aloysius C. Ebert of Blaine. They moved to rural Flush, where she was a devoted farm wife and homemaker for the next 50 years.
    Aloysius preceded her in death on May 3, 1984.
    Alexia was a Flush Community 4-H Club leader for many years. She was also a member of the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and St. Joseph’s Altar Society. She enjoyed gardening and canning and loved reading.
    Alexia is survived by six chil¬dren: four sons, James Ebert and wife Belinda of Wamego, Pat Ebert, Westmoreland, Thomas Ebert and wife Kay, rural St. George, and Hugh Ebert and wife Rae of Tuttle, Okla.; two daughters: Sharon Wickstrum and husband Larry, Westmoreland, and Alexis Ebert and husband Bill, Rossville; 17 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.
    She was also preceded in death by a brother James; four sisters: Margaret, Esther, Catheleen and Madeline, and two grandchildren: Timothy and Tamara Wickstrum.
    Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, Dec. 10, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Flush.
    Burial followed in the church cemetery.
    Memorial contributions are sug¬gested to the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and may be left in care of Stewart Funeral Home, P.O. Box 48, Wamego, KS, 66547.

    WAMEGO- Alexia Ebert, 101, of Flush, KS, passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2012, at the Via Christi Village in Manhattan, KS.
    Alexia was born June 21, 1911 in Blaine, KS, the daughter of James and Mary (Rooney) McCormick. On June 6, 1934, Alexia married Aloysius C. Ebert in Blaine, KS. He preceded her in death in 1984.
    Alexia is survived by four sons: James Ebert (Belinda) of Wamego, KS, Pat Ebert of Westmoreland, KS, Thomas Ebert (Kay) of rural St. George, KS and Hugh Ebert (Rae) of Tuttle, OK; two daughters: Sharon Wickstrum (Larry) of Westmo¬reland, KS and Alexis Ebert (Bill) of Rossville, KS; 17 grand¬children and 33 great-grandchildren. Among her husband she was also preceded in death by a brother: James; four sisters: Margaret, Esther, Catheleen and Madeline and two grandchildren: Timothy and Tamara Wickstrum.
    Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 10, 2012 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Flush, KS. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Ebert will lie in-state at the Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego beginning at 12:00 p.m. Sunday, where family will greet friends during a visitation from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. followed with a Rosary recited at 5:00 p.m. Memorial contributions are suggested to the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and may be left in care of Stewart Funeral Home, PO Box 48, Wamego, KS, 66547.
