  Obituary- Ellis, Silas Dr. S.C. Ellis Dead. Dr. S.C. Ellis, who left hero a year ago in January after living hero for a year and practising dentistry, died Sunday morning March 11, at 11 a.m. in a hospital in Hutchinson where he had been for about a month. The news came in a letter to Mrs. H.E. Ishmael, but the cause of his death was not stated. Since leaving here Mrs. Ellis had been making her home with a sister at White Oaks, New Mex., and Dr. Ellis has been living first at Independence, Kansas, and later at Hutchinson. Mrs. Ellis reached his bedside late the evening before the Doctor’s death. For nearly thirty years Dr. Ellis worked in the government printing office in Washington, and just before coming to Rossville, for several years with the Capper publications in Topeka.
