• Documents » Slide Show		Obituary- Davis, Louise 1 Louise Ronsse Davis ROSSVILLE -- Louise Ronsse Davis, 69, Route 1, Rossville, died Sunday, March 13, 1994, at her home. She was born Feb. 22, 1925, in St. Marys, the daughter of Mathias and Rosalie Baumchen Floersch, and spent her life in the St. Marys and Rossville communities. She was an optometric assistant and had worked for Dr. John Hammerli in Topeka and St. Marys. She worked for Dr. Verne Claussen in St. Marys from 1972 until 1990 when she retired. She attended Rock Grade School and was graduated from St. Marys High School in 1943. She attended Mount St. Scholastica College in Atchison and had taught at Rock School, Adrian School and Sandy Hook School, all near St. Marys. Mrs. Davis was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Parent-Teacher Association, both in St. Marys. She had been a member and an officer of the Shawnee County Optometric Assistants Association. She was married to Frank R. Ronsse Aug. 13, 1946. He died March 9, 1957. She was married to Francis E. Davis Sept. 23, 1982. He survives. Other survivors include three sons, Frank Ronsse, Ketchum, Okla., Peter Ronsse, Marquette, Kan., and Dennis Ronsse, Anchorage, Alaska; two daughters, Judith Ann Pryor, Lees Summit, Mo., and Marian Sweany, St. Marys; two stepdaughters, Sharon Pierce, Wittmann, Ariz., and Candice Davis, Purdy, Mo.; three brothers, Eugene Floersch, St. Marys, Mathias Floersch, Ottawa, and Joseph Floersch, Delia; three sisters, Rose Marie McCoy, Alma, Marguerite Glick, St. Marys, and Regina Stork, Davenport, Iowa; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Marys. Burial will be Mount Calvary Cemetery in St. Marys. Mrs. Davis will lie in state after noon today at Verschelden Funeral Home in St. Marys where a rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. today. Memorial contributions may be made to the building fund at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Rossville or to Midland Hospice in Topeka.

She was born February 22, 1925, in St. Marys, the daughter of Mathias and Rosalie Baumchen Floersch. August 13, 1946, she was united in marriage to Frank R. Ronsse. He died March 9, 1957. She married Francis E. Davis September 23, 1982. He survives. Mrs. Davis worked as an optometric assistant for Dr. John Hammerli in Topeka and St. Marys. Davis, of the home; three sons, Frank Ronsse, Ketchum, Okla., Peter Ronsse, Marquette, and Dennis Ronsse, Anchorage, Alaska; two daughters, Judith Ann Pryor, Lee’s Summit, Mo., and Marian Sweany, St. Marys; two stepdaughters, Sharon Pierce, Whittmar, Ariz., and Candice Davis, Purdy, Mo.; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Eugene Floersch, St. Marys, Mathias Floersch, Ottawa; and Joseph Floersch, Delia; three sisters, Rose Marie McCoy, Alma, Marguerite Glick, St. Marys, and Regina Stork, Davenport, Ia. Mrs. Davis will lie in state after 12 noon Tuesday (today) at Verschelden Chapel. A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Verschelden Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial is at 10:30 Wednesday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, St. Marys, with burial to be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, St. Marys. Memorials are suggested to St. Stanislaus Building Fund, or Midland Hospice.
