The children of Mr. and Mrs. Charles G. Dayton, Rossville, will hold open house Sunday, September 25, 1983, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Rossville United Methodist Church in honor of their parents’ 50th wedding anniversary. Mr. and Mrs. Dayton were married in Cumberland, Md., September 23, 1933.
Their six children are: C. Ronald Dayton, deceased; Nancy Brooks, Rossville; John Dayton, Overland Park; Dan A. Dayton, Wichita; J. Kathleen Kovar, Rossville; and Richard Dayton, Topeka. The couple has fifteen grandchildren and three great- grandchildren.

Charles Gamaliel Dayton, 81, Tope¬ka, formerly of Rossville, died Thurs¬day, Dec. 3, 1992, at a Topeka nurs¬ing home.
Mr. Dayton was a material control coordinator for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. from 1945 until he retired in 1973. He previously was a coal miner 17 years in Pennsylvania.
He was born Oct. 22, 1911, in Buhl, Idaho, the son of Joseph S. Dayton Sr., and Almeda Viola Bitner Dayton. He lived 31 years in Rossville before moving to Topeka in October 1990.
Mr. Dayton was a member of Tope¬ka Church of the Brethren, Lake Lodge No. 50, AF&AM, in Silver Lake and Scottish Rite Bodies of Topeka. He was a past president of Goodyear Leisure Club and a graduate of the Dale Carnegie Course.
He was married to Sophia Garretson Sept. 23, 1933, in Cumberland, Md. She survives. A son, Charles Ronald Dayton, died in 1983.
Other survivors include two daugh¬ters, Nancy L. Brooks, Topeka, and Judith Kathleen Kovar, Rossville; three sons, John Wade Dayton and Daniel Alan Dayton, both of Overland Park, and Richard Lee Dayton, Tope¬ka; a sister, Esther Meyers, Chambersburg, Pa.; a brother, Joseph S. Dayton Jr., Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; 15 grandchildren; and eight great-grand¬children.
Mr. Dayton was cremated. Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the Topeka Church of the Brethren. Inurnment will be in Ross¬ville Cemetery. Lake Lodge No. 50, AFSAM, will conduct Masonic ser¬vices. Memorial contributions may be made to the Topeka Church of the Brethren, 3205 N.W. Rochester Road, 66617; or Rossville United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 88, Rossville, 66533. Parker-Price Mortu¬ary was in charge of arrangements.
