    Mr. and Mrs. Henry Dibbern will be guests of honor at an open house to be held at Myron Green’s in Topeka on Sunday, June 9, 1974, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., honoring their 50th wedding anniversary. Friends and relatives are invited to attend. The couple requests that no gifts be presented.

    Hosts and hostesses will be their children: Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Whitfield, Osceola, Ind.; Mr. and Mrs. Dean Bratton, Collinsville, Okla.; Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Crow, Osage City; Mr. and Mrs. Merle E. Ross, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Dibbern, and Mrs. Harold Dibbern, all from Topeka.

    Mr. and Mrs. Dibbern were married on June 4, 1924, and spent the early part of their marriage on a farm near Delia. The later years have been spent in Topeka where Mr. Dibbern was employed by the Kansas Power and Light Company before his retirement.

    The children of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Dibbern will honor them Sunday, June 9 with a reception in the Myron Green Cafeteria from 3 to 5 p.m. in celebration of the couple’s 50th wedding anniversary.

    Hosts will be Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Whitfield, Osceola, Ind.; Mr. and Mrs. Dean Bratton, Collinsville, Okla. ; Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Crow, Osage City; Mr. and Mrs. Merle E. Ross Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Dibbern and Mrs. Harold Dibbern, Topeka.

    Mr. and Mrs. Dibbern were married June 24, 1924 in Topeka. They lived in Delia several years before moving to Topeka. Before his retirement, Mr. Dibbern was employed by Kansas Power and Light Co., They have 18 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

    Mr. and Mrs. Henry M. Dibbem will be honored on their 60th wedding anniversary with a reception from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, June 3 at the North Porch of Garfield Shelterhouse.

    Hosts for the occasion will be their children, Mrs. Louise Claycomb; Mr. and Mrs. Merle E. Ross; Mr. and Mrs. Dean Bratton, Collinsville, Okla.; Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Whitfield, Mishawaka, Indiana; and Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Dibbern.

    Henry Dibbern and Mabel Banta were married June 4, 1924.

    He is retired from Kansas Power & Light, Tecumseh.

    Mr. and Mrs. Henry Dibbern, Topeka, will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary with a reception hosted by their children from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the couple’s home, 2113 N.W. Lower Silver Lake Road.

    Their children are Merle and Shirley Ross, Topeka; Geneva and Lloyd Whitfield, Mishawaka, Ind.; Avis and Dean Bratton, Collinsville, Okla.; Louise and Lloyd Brandenburg, Topeka; Floyd and Jean Dibbern, Topeka, and the late Harold Dibbern.

    They have 13 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and one great- great grandchild.

    Henry Dibbern and Mabel Banta were married June 4, 1924, in Delia. Mr. Dibbern is retired from Kansas Power and Light Co. Mrs. Dibbern had been employed by Hollywood- Maxwell, an apparel maker.

    Henry M. Dibbern

    Henry M. Dibbern, 91, Topeka, died Thursday, Jan. 4, 1996, at a Topeka hospital

    Mr. Dibbern farmed near Delia and had worked in maintenance for Kansas Power and Light.

    He was born Nov. 19, 1904, at Whit¬ing, the son of Amiel H. and Rachel A. Lynde Dibbern. He had lived in Topeka since 1940.

    Mr. Dibbern was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.

    He was married to Mabel Banta on June 4, 1924, at Topeka. She survives.

    Other survivors include a son, Floyd Dibbern, Topeka; three daughters, Louise Brandenburg, Topeka, Avis Bratton, Collinsville, Okla., and Geneva Whitfield, Mishawaka, Ind.; 18 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

    Mrs. Dibbern was preceded in death by a son, Harold E. Dibbern, in 1970, and a daughter, Shirley Ross, in December 1994.

    Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery. Mr. Dibbern will lie in state after noon today at the Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home where relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Kansas Division Inc., Northern Area Office, 1315 S.W. Arrowhead Road, Topeka, 66604, or to Midland Hospice Care, 200 S.W. Frazier Circle, Topeka, 66606.

    Henry M. Dibbern, 91, Topeka, died Jan. 4, 1996, at St. Francis Hospital.

    Mr. Dibbern was born Nov. 19, 1904, at Whiting, the son of Amiel H. and Rachel A. Lynde Dibbern.

    He was a farmer his entire life. He also was retired from KP&L as a maintenance worker. Mr. Dibbern lived in Delia before he moved to Topeka in 1940. He was a member of IBEW Union.

    He was married to Mabel Banta on June 4, 1924 in Topeka. She survives. Mr. Dibbern was preceded in death by a son, Harold E. Dibbern, in 1970; and a daughter, Shirley Ross, in December 1994.

    Other survivors include a son, Floyd Dibbern, Topeka; three daughters, Louise Brandenburg, Topeka, Avis Bratton, Collinsville, Okla., and Geneva Whitfield, Mishawaka, Ind.; 18 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
