    Ralph Dick

    Ralph Dick, 77, Topeka, died Wednesday, September 4, 1974, in a Topeka hospital where he was admitted August 25. He had a lung ailment.

    He was born March 22, 1897, at Williamstown, the son of I.S. and Elizabeth Dick, and lived his early life in the Williamstown community. He lived near Pauline 34 years before he moved to the Rochester neighborhood 10 years ago.

    He was a veteran of World War I, and was a farmer before he retired about 10 years ago.

    He was a member of Terra Heights Baptist Church and Post No. 142 of the American Legion at Perry.

    He was married to Nellie Belle Carder September 10, 1919, at Perry. She survives. A son, Ralph Edward Dick, died September 4, 1964.

    Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Mary Allman, Manhattan; two brothers, Clarence Dick, Willard, and Bennie Dick, Rossville; three sisters, Mrs. Stella Schehrer, Lawrence, Mrs. Lena Prentice, Osawatomie, and Mrs. Cassie May, Perry; seven grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.

    Services were at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home. Military graveside services were conducted at Buster Cemetery north of Perry. Casket bearers were Junior Dick, Everett Woods, Jimmy Dick, Bill Allman, Eugene May, and Larry Dick.
