    Richard Dick

    Richard Dick, 82, Buhler, died Tuesday, March 23, 1999 at a Hutchinson hospital.

    Mr. Dick farmed in the Little River Township area.

    He was born November 14, 1916, in Harvey County, the son of Dietrich H. and Justina Marten Dick. He was a lifelong Reno County resident.

    Mr. Dick was a member of the Buhler Mennonite Church, Buhler Kiwanis Club, Kansas Farmer of the Year and Kansas Wool Growers Association. He had served on the boards of directors for the Buhler State Bank, Soil Conservation, 4-H Extension, Farm Credit Services and Blaze Fork Drainage District He was also a member of the governing board of the Buhler Rural Fire District.

    He married Dorothy L. Giddings on September 3, 1939 in Hutchinson. She survives.

    Other survivors include a son, Mark W. Dick, Wichita; two daughters, Connie Rueck, Silver Lake, and Diane Romans, Arnold, NE; a brother, Arthur K. Dick, Buhler; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
    His service was held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Buhler Mennonite Church. Burial was in Buhler Municipal Cemetery. Family and friends met 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the mortuary.

    Memorial contributions may be made to the Buhler Mennonite Church and sent in care of the mortuary.
