    Leo “Lee” Dohrman
    ST. MARYS - St. Marys- Leo “Lee” Dohrman, 93, St. Marys, passed away Monday, April 18, 2005, at St. Marys Community Hospital.
    Lee was a farmer/stockman for more than 70 years. He owned and operated various farms in Pottawatomie and Jackson counties.
    He was born Feb. 13, 1912, on a farm near St. Marys in Wabaunsee County, the son of John Richard and Mary Veronica Brunin Dohrman.
    He attended his early years of school at Immaculate Conception. Later, after retiring from the war, he attended a GI farm school. He was a member of the Farmer’s Union Coop for many years. He lived his entire life in the surrounding St. Marys community.
    Lee faithfully served his country almost nine years. He was a member of the Kansas National Guard and served in the Army during World War II. In 1944 he was deployed to the European theatre of operations and was honorably discharged in 1945. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 0058 in Topeka.
    He entered into marriage with Patricia Hennessey on April 30, 1949, at Assumption Catholic Church in Topeka. They celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in 1999.
    Lee was a lifelong member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council No. 657, both in St. Marys.
    Surviving are his wife, Patricia, of the home; two sons, Jack Hennessey, Pleasant Hill, Mo., and Richard Dohrman, Delia; a daughter, Janice “Jan” Dohrman, Topeka; four sisters, Germaine Durow and Catherine Reilly, both of Topeka, Margaret Tomson, Delia, and Dolores Floersch, Rossville; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
    Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 23, 2005, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Marys. He will lie in state after 2 p.m. Friday at Piper Funeral Home, where a rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery in St. Marys, where a funeral detail team will conduct military graveside services.
    Memorial contributions may be made to the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and sent in care of the funeral home.

    Leo “Lee” Dohrman
    Leo “Lee” Dohrman, 93, died Monday, April 18, 2005, at St. Marys Community Hospital.
    He was born February 13, 1912, on a farm near St. Marys in Wabaunsee County. He was the fourth child of 13 children born to John Richard and Mary Veronica Brunin Dohrman.
    He attended his early years of school at Immaculate Conception in St. Marys. After returning from the war, he attended a G.I. farm school.
    Lee was a farmer/stockman for over 70 years. He owned and operated various farms in Pottawatomie and Jackson counties. He was a member of the Farmers Union Coop for many years, and lived his entire life in the surrounding St. Marys community.
    Lee faithfully served his country for almost nine years. He was a member of the Kansas National Guard and served in the United States Army during World War II. He worked in the Communications Department, while also serving as a driver for an Army Genera. In 1944, he was deployed to the European Theatre of Operations and was honorably discharged in 1945. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 0058 in Topeka.
    On April 30, 1949, he married Patricia Hennessey at Assumption Catholic Church in Topeka. They celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in 1999.
    Lee was a life long member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council No. 657, both in St. Marys. He was an honest, hard working man who had a strong love and devotion for his family, work and the Catholic Church.
    Surviving him are his wife, Patricia; two sons, Richard Dohrman, Delia, and Jack Hennessey, Pleasant Hill, MO; a daughter, Janice “Jan” Dohrman, Topeka; four sisters, Germaine Durow and Catherine Reilly, Topeka, Margaret Tomson, Delia, and Dolores Floersch, Rossville; six grandchildren and five great-grand-children.
    He was preceded in death by four brothers, Bill, Jack, Ray and Paul; four sisters, Mary Jones, Sally Simecka, twin sister Veronica Dary, and Monica McKinley.
    A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Friday at Piper Funeral Home, 714 Maple, St. Marys 66536.
    Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Marys. Burial was in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, St. Marys, where a funeral detail team conducted a military graveside service.
