    Mr. and Mrs. Frank L. Fairbanks will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Sunday, October 20, with a reception in the Methodist Manse in Emmett, Kansas. Friends and relatives are cordially invited to call from 2 to 4 p. m.

    Frank L. Fairbanks of St. Clere, Kansas, and Rena Ethel Blaylock, St. Clere, were united in marriage in the home of her uncle, Robert Meredith, a minister of the United Brethern Church in Topeka, Kansas, on December 20, 1913. Before her wedding, Mrs. Fairbanks taught school for five years. She taught two years in Pottawatomie County at the Little Rock and St. Clere schools, and three years in Bourbon County.

    Most of their married life has been spent in the St. Clere and Emmett vicinities. Mr. Fairbanks has been a farmer and stockman most of this time.

    They have seven living children: Mrs. Ruth Zetmeir, Kansas City, Missouri; Mrs. Rena Powers, Denver, Colorado; Doris Fiorino, Norwalk, California; Charles, Kansas City, Missouri; Frank Jr., Kingsville, Missouri; Joseph, Emmett, Kansas; and Hugh, Delia, Kansas. Mr. and Mrs. Fairbanks have 19 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

    FRANK LESTER FAIRBANKS
    Frank Lester Fairbanks, 55, Kansas City, Mo., passed away Monday, September 12, 1977, at the Veterans Hospital in Kansas City after an extended illness.
    He was born February 2, 1922, at St. Clere, Ks., the son of Frank Lester and Ethel Blaylock Fairbanks. He grew to manhood in the Emmett community.
    Mr. Fairbanks was a member of the United Methodist Church at Emmett, the Masonic Lodge, Doric Lodge #83 at Eudora, the V.F.W. (he was a World War II veteran), and the Millwrights Local 1529. He worked as a millwright in the Kansas City area for 19 years, and retired two years ago.
    Mr. Fairbanks was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Gerald, George and Carl Douglas Fairbanks.
    Surviving him are his wife, Opal; two sons, Frank L. Fairbanks, Holden, and Clyde L. Fairbanks, Harrisonville; a daughter, Mrs. Angela Gonzalez, Altus, Okla.; three brothers, Charles Fairbanks, Raytown, Joe Fairbanks and Hugh Fairbanks, both of Rossville; three sisters, Mrs. Ruth Zetmeir, Parsons, Mrs. Rena Powers, Denver, Colo., and Mrs. Doris Johnson, Fullerton, Calif.; and nine grandchildren.
    Services were held Thursday morning (today) at the Park Lawn Funeral Home at Kansas City. Interment was in Green Lawn Cemetery.
