    HUGH G. FAIRBANKS SR.
    Hugh G. Fairbanks Sr. 71, of Delia died Monday in a Topeka hospital. He was born April 23, 1838, near Soldier and spent most of his life in the Delia and Soldier communities.
    He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Fairbanks of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Geraldine Buck, Redondo Beach, Calif.: a son, Fain Fairbanks, Topeka; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; six sisters, Mrs. Tom Pollock and Mrs. Harold Vernon of Topeka; Mrs. G. W. Ernst and Mrs. Robert Campbell of Holton; Mrs. Frank Chrisman of Jefferson, Ore., and Mrs. Ormand Brosious of Buffalo, Wyo., and two brothers, J.O. Fairbanks of Wichita, and Oscar Fairbanks of Circleville.
    Funeral services were at 2 p.m. today at the Mercer Funeral Home at Holton with burial in Olive Hill Cemetery west of Holton.
