DOVER — Edna Dudney George, 91, Dover, died Thursday, April 25, 2002, at a Rossville nursing home.
Mrs. George worked for the Kansas Motor Vehicle Department for many years before she retired.
She was born Jan. 30, 1911, in Maple Hill, the daughter of Lee Ander and Ada Cheuvront Lister. She attended Dover High School.
Mrs. George was a member of Dover Federated Church, Nine Chapter No. 486 of the Order of the Eastern Star in Dover, a 50-year member of the Dover Rebekah Lodge, a member of the Ladies Aide in Dover and the Rossville Rollers.
She married Vincent G. Dudney on Sept. 5, 1931, in Kimball, Neb. He died May 5, 1981. She married Dale George on Oct. 26, 1986, in Dover. They were divorced. Mrs. George also was preceded in death by a grandson, Gary Kent Crow.
Survivors include a son, Bryce “Pete" Dudney, Rossville; two daughters, Beverly Ketter, Topeka, and JoAnn Crow, Maple Hill; two brothers, Thearone Lister, Maple Hill, and Harvey Lister, Topeka; 14 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Dover Federated Church. Burial will be in Dover Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Dover Federated Church Fellowship Hall Building Fund or Heart of America Hospice and sent in care of Piper-Verschelden Funeral Home in St. Marys.
