Fairbanks will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Sunday, October 20, with a reception in the Methodist Manse in Emmett, Kansas. Friends and relatives are cordially invited to call from 2 to 4 p. m. Frank L. Fairbanks of St. Clere, Kansas, and Rena Ethel Blaylock, St. Clere, were united in marriage in the home of her uncle, Robert Meredith, a minister of the United Brethern Church in Topeka, Kansas, on December 20, 1913. Before her wedding, Mrs. Fairbanks taught school for five years. She taught two years in Pottawatomie County at the Little Rock and St. Clere schools, and three years in Bourbon County. Most of their married life has been spent in the St. Clere and Emmett vicinities. Mr. Fairbanks has been a farmer and stockman most of this time. They have seven living children: Mrs. Ruth Zetmeir, Kansas City, Missouri; Mrs. Rena Powers, Denver, Colorado; Doris Fiorino, Norwalk, California; Charles, Kansas City, Missouri; Frank Jr., Kingsville, Missouri; Joseph, Emmett, Kansas; and Hugh, Delia, Kansas. Mr. and Mrs. Fairbanks have 19 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

  Obituary- Fairbanks, Rena Mrs. Ethel Fairbanks EMMETT — Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the United Methodist Church here for Mrs. Rena Ethel Fairbanks, 77, Emmett, who died Thursday in a St. Marys rest home. She had been a patient in a Topeka hospital from June 9 to Aug. 27. She underwent surgery June 22 and later developed a heart ailment. She was born Dec. 18, 1890, at St. Clere in Pottawatomie County and spent most of her life in the Emmett community. She was a member of the United Methodist Church at Emmett. She was married to Frank Fairbanks Dec. 20, 1913, in Topeka. She was preceded in death by three sons, Gerald Fairbanks in infancy, Douglas Fairbanks in 1941, and George Fairbanks in 1946. Besides her husband, survivors include four sons, Joseph Fairbanks, Emmett, Charles Fairbanks, Raytown, Mo.; Frank Fairbanks, Kansas City, Mo., and Hugh Fairbanks, , Delia; three daughters, Mrs. Ruth Zetmeir, Parsons, Mrs. Rena Powers, Denver, Colo., and Mrs. Doria Fiorino, Norwalk, Calif.; a brother, Charles Blaylock, Onaga; 18 grandchildren, and six greatgrandchildren. Burial will be in St. Clere Cemetery. Verschelden Funeral Home at St. Marys is in charge of arrangements.
