| Obituary- Fawl, George 1 George Fawl dies of sudden illness
Services were held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. for George E. Fawl, who died Saturday at a Topeka hospital after he was rushed there by a Topeka ambulance. Rev. Floyd Gee officiated at the Parker Mortuary in Topeka. Burial was in Rossville Cemetery with Hesperian Lodge of Rossville in charge of graveside services.
Mr. Fawl, who was a former Rossville mayor, was a long time businessman here.
He was born May 14, 1895, in Jackson County and lived most of his life in Rossville. For 26 years he operated the Standard Oil Co. bulk plant here retiring in 1953. He served many years with the volunteer fire department here.
He was a member of Hesperian Lodge No. Ill, AF &AM, of Rossville.
Survivors include his widow, Winifred, of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Paul D. Huske, Anchorage, Alaska, and Mrs. Joseph N. Brace, Topeka; a sister, Mrs. J.H. Zimmerman, Fort Myers, Florida; and six grandchildren
