Clyne Byron Gideon, 74, Topeka, died Friday, Jan. 13, 1989, at a Topeka hospital.
Mr. Gideon had worked for Stansberg Machine Shop. He also had owned and operated Triumph Motorcycle Shop on East 6th, Gideon Auto Sales Car Lot on North Kansas Ave. and Kline’s Hardware, both in North Topeka. He was a teacher in the Topeka Youth Center machine shop before he retired in 1978.
He was born Sept. 17, 1914, at St. Clere, north of Emmett, the son of Clarence T. and Anna L. Riley Gideon. He grew up in Rossville and was graduated from Rossville High School. He spent most of his life in Topeka.
He was married to Evelyn R. Vandiver Aug. 15, 1941, at Lyndon. She survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Vicki A. Gideon, Topeka; his mother, Anna L. Gideon, Topeka; three sisters, Josephine Warnken, Naples, Fla., Helen Sheetz, Houston, and Marjorie Hersh, Topeka; and two brothers, Clarence Gideon and Clifton Gideon, both of Topeka.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Parker-Price Mortuary. Burial will be in Rochester Cemetery. Mr. Gideon will lie in state from 10 a.m. today until 9 p.m. Sunday when the casket will be closed at the mortuary.
