    Mrs. Nettie B. Gideon

    Mrs. Nettie Blanche Gideon, 87, Topeka, died Wednesday, Nov. 9, 1988, at a Topeka hospital.

    Mrs. Gideon worked for an insurance agency two years before she was married.
    She later lived 60 years on a farm in the Menoken community where she and her husband raised registered Hereford cattle.

    She was born Nov. 8, 1901, at Lancaster, the daughter of John and Bertha Weaver Borgeson. She later lived in the Emmett community. She was graduated from Strickler’s Business College in Topeka.

    Mrs. Gideon was a charter mem¬ber of Menoken Extension Homemakers Unit. She also was a mem¬ber of the Raw Valley Community Club, Indian Creek Grange and a Bible study group at the retirement center where she lived the past four years. She was active in several livestock organizations and won awards for livestock judging.

    She was married to Lloyd H. Gideon March 5, 1924, at St. Joseph, MO. He survives.

    Other survivors include a daughter, Beulah L. Joy, Topeka; a son, L. Eldon Gideon, Topeka; and two brothers, Clarence Borgeson, Kensington, Calif., and Raymond Borgeson, Price, Utah.

    Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Friday at Parker-Price Mortuary. Burial will be in Prairie Home Cemetery northwest of Topeka. Mrs. Gideon will lie in state after 1 p.m. today at the mortuary.

Mrs. Gideon was preceded in death by four brothers: Ralph Borgeson, Albert Borgeson, Wilbur Borgeson and Willis Borgeson.
