Mr. and Mrs. E. F. Gilgannon [sic Gillgannon], Topeka, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Sunday, Mar. 28, with an open house given by their children.
Friends and relatives are invited to call between 2:00 and 4:00 p.m. in the couple’s home, 1712 Huntoon.
Mr. and Mrs. Gilgannon were married Mar. 30, 1921, in the Immaculate Conception Church, St. Marys. They have four daughters:
Mrs. L. O. Lane, Riverside, Calif.; Mrs. I. L. Carrier, Mobile, Ala.; Mrs. Joe Sullivan, and Mrs. Ken Klein, Topeka.
They have 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The couple asks that no gifts be presented.

Eugene F. Gillgannon, 75, 1712 Huntoon, died Tuesday in a Topeka hospital.
He was born April 19, 1897, at Delia where he spent his early life. He moved to Topeka in 1942. He was employed on the maintenance staff at the Topeka Goodyear Plant before he retired. He was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church.
He and his wife, Gertrude, were married March 30, 1921. She survives.
Other survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Josephine Lane, Riverside, Calif., Mrs. Beatrice Carrier, Mobile, Ala., Mrs. Jeanie Sullivan, 4337 W. 31st Ter., and Mrs. Ramona Klein, 6466 S.W. Suffolk Road.
Also surviving are four brothers, Vincent Gillgannon, Wamego, Tim Gillgannon, Portland, Ore., Dr. Patrick Gillgannon, Leavenworth, and I. M. Gillgannon, 659 Mac Vicar; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Dusenberry, Oregon, Mrs. Monica Moylan, Emmett, and Mrs. Winifred Claxton, Kansas City; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Holy Name Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery at St. Marys. Mr. Gillgannon will lie in state from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Brennan Funeral Home where parish rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Thursday.
