    Vincent Gillgannon
    ST. MARYS - Services will be at 8 p.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church here for Vincent C. Gillgannon, 85, Wamego, who died Monday in a Wamego nursing home.

    He was born Feb. 7, 1890, at Delia and spent most of his life in the Delia and St. Marys communities. He moved to Wamego about 15 years ago. He was a Navy veteran of World War I.

    He was manager of a Standard Oil station at St. Marys and later was manager of the Skelly Oil station at Wamego before he retired in 1969.

    He was a member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church at Wamego, Knights of Columbus Council No. 657 at St. Marys, and was a 50-year member of Harold Johnson Post of the American Legion at Wamego.

    Survivors include three brothers, Timothy B. Gillgannon, Portland, Ore., Dr. Patrick J. Gillgannon, Leaven worth, and Ignatius M. Gillgannon, 659 MacVicar, Topeka; and three sisters, Mrs. Mary Dusenberry, Medford, Ore., Mrs. Monica Moylan, Emmett, and Mrs. Winnefred Claxton, Kansas City, Mo.

    A prayer service is planned at 10 a.m. Friday at Verschelden Funeral Home at St. Marys. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery at St. Marys.
