    James B. Godbey
    James Briscoe Godbey, 93, formerly of Topeka, died Tuesday, March 12, 1996, at a Las Vegas, Nev. retirement center.

    Mr. Godbey was a passenger coach foreman for the Santa Fe Railroad until he retired.

    He was born November 19,
    1902, at Perryville, KY, the son of John Wesley and Luella Williams Godbey. He moved to Las Vegas, Nev. from Tucson, AZ, in 1994.

    Mr. Godbey was a member of the United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite Bodies, and the Arab Shrine.

    He was married to Ruby Ellen Linsacum August 29, 1924. She died in 1965. A daughter, Delores White, also preceded him in death.

    Survivors include a daughter, Peggy Broxterman, Las Vegas.; two brothers, William P. Godbey, Rossville, and John W. Godbey, Duncan, Okla.; a sister, Dorothy Paramore, Topeka; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

    Relatives and friends met from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Penwell- Gabcl Funeral Chapel, Topeka. His service was at 1:00 Monday at the funeral home; burial with Masonic graveside service was in Mount Hope Cemetery, Topeka.

    Memorial contributions may be made either to the Salvation Army, P.O. Box 599, Topeka 66601, or to the Nathan Adelson Hospice, 4141 South Swenson, Las Vegas, Nev.
