    Joseph C. Floersch

    DELIA— Joseph C. Floersch, 76, Delia, died Wednesday, Aug. 13,2003, at a Topeka hospital.

    He was born Jan. 26, 1927, in St. Marys, the son of Mathias and Rosa Baumchen Floersch. He grew up in St. Marys. He had lived in the Delia community for many years.

    He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a farmer until 1984. He was a crop insurance agent and adjuster.

    He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Delia and St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Rossville. He was a member of Jimmie Lillard Post No. 31 of the American Legion in Rossville.

    He married Dolores Dohrman in 1956 at St. Marys. She survives, of the home.

    Other survivors include two daughters, Kathy Olejnik, Rossville, and Karen Crow, Delia; a son, John Floersch, Shawnee; two brothers, Eugene Floersch, St. Marys, and Matt Floersch, Ottawa; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

    Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Marys. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery in St. Marys. He will lie in state after 2 p.m. Friday at Piper-Verschelden Funeral Home in St. Marys, where a rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.

    Memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church or Kansas Diabetes Association and sent in care of the funeral home.

    He was born January 26, 1927, in St. Marys, the son of Mathias and Rosa Baumchen Floersch.

    He had lived in the Delia community many years.
