| Obituary- Gresser, Christine MRS. C. D. GRESSER
Christine Dannenfelser was born in Henry county, Illinois, May 5, 1848 and departed from this life at Rossville, Sept. 3, 1929 at the age of 81 years, 3 months and 29 days.
She was united in marriage to Frederick Ernest Gresser, Oct. 28, 1868, he having preceded her to the great beyond nine years ago. To this union was born five sons and one daughter, the daughter having died in infancy.
The sons are Edwin E. of Topeka; Albert Grant and Clarence E. of Rossville, John Clark of Ft. Riley and Rollin F. of Baxter Springs, Kan.
At the age of seventeen years she united with the Baptist church but after a marriage on moving to Atkinson, Ill., she united with the Congregational church there to which she still belonged. Thru all her life she was active in all the departments of her church until failing health prevented.
Mrs. Gresser came to Rossville nine years ago to make her home with her children, most of this time having been spent with her son Grant where after much tender care she passed away.
Thru all the trials of her life she kept her faith in God, never once doubting but that all things were His plan and done for the best. So strong was this faith, that she goes on beyond leaving on the memory of her children an indelible memorial to the mother who lived her Christianity each day of her life.
Funeral services were this (Thursday) morning at 10:30 o’clock, at the home of C. E. Gresser, conducted by the Rev. Gordon S. Pritchett. The body was then taken to Topeka for shipment to Geneseo, Ill., for burial. Mrs. Grant Gresser and Messrs. C. E. Gresser and Rollin Gresser of Baxter Springs, accompanied the body to its last resting place.
